I am a United Methodist pastor currently serving at Philadelphia First UMC in Philadelphia, MS.  I am a proud Mississippi State Bulldog and a graduate of Candler School of Theology in 1993.  My wife Becky and I have been married for 28 years and we have two children ages 25 and 22.

I have served in a variety of appointments from being on staff as a youth director to serving a three-church charge where I preached every Sunday at 9:30am, 11:00am, 2:00pm, and 6:00pm.  I served churches in the suburbs and where I was eleven miles from the nearest gas station/convenience store.  I have served in churches as large as 1,700 and as small at 15 members.

I have been blessed to serve on a variety of boards and agencies that have given me a broad perspective of the amazing ways in which God is working in Mississippi, across the U.S., and throughout the world.  I have served on the boards of Camp Lake Stephens, three different Wesley Foundations, Methodist Senior Services, as the local pastor registrar for the MS Conference, my seminary’s alumni board, and with community centers as well.  I share these things not to puff up myself but to celebrate the many ways in which God’s Church bears witness to the love of God in this world.

I am thankful that God called me to be a pastor, and I truly can’t imagine doing anything else!
